I have spent the last few days with Mark Gardner, filming for a new DVD. The last few days have proved challenging, and have been a hectic combination of driving, buying Koi, dining out, and more driving! (not necessarily in that order!) But, alas, that all came to an end yesterday, and Mark traveled back up to Ojiya this morning. Getting Koi this Spring has also been a challenge! Whilst I have had no problems getting access to the Koi I want, it seems that in general, some breeders have struggled to make many good Koi with last year's breedings. Further to this, most of the cheaper more reasonable priced Koi have been sold, so I have struggled to get cheaper Koi for those that are keep to buy their first Koi from us, and for this I apologise :-(

Today has been a day of catching up with emails, and such. Tomorrow is my last day, and I hope to get just a few more Koi. Fingers crossed...

Well, with much anticipation yesterday I selected through many of Momotaro's Tategoi when they were doing final selection for their Tategoi, and auction koi. I was in love with one Sanke, but she didn't have the body type I was looking for, but I did manage to get just one good Sanke. Then, today, we (Mark and I) went to Matsue. I harvested and selected through three ponds of Tategoi, and ended up with just ten Kohaku Jumbo Tosai (female). I am out having dinner with Mark now as I type this, and will get the new koi uploaded onto the website as soon as I can...

Well, as from today, I have no more dealers, and it's time to get some serious hunting done!

Mark Gardner has joined me today, to make a DVD of the next part of the trip. In the morning, we will be at Momotaro Koi Farm. Watch this space...

Having arrived on the 27th, I have new dealers arriving tomorrow, through until the 7th. From the 7th onwards, I will finally start Koi hunting! That said, I have found a few Koi so far, which are on the 'Fish' pages. I also have a few more to add.

I am hoping that the 7th onwards will have some nice surprises in store...
