Wakabayashi Koi Farm. President Wakabayashi is famous in Japan for his for his Kohaku, Sanke and Showa. Wakabayashi Koi are very sought after and rarely come to the U.K. Two different sets of parents are used for Kohaku. One set is a Female Sensuke, with Dainichi male. The other set is Dainichi and Oshita (tomoin based bloodline). We only have the Sensuke ones, as they have a greater size potential. Showa are of Dainichi and Kobayashi lines. Sanke are Sadazo bloodline. Some Showa are of Takeda bloodline. The Koi we have from Wakabayashi are all of extremely high quality, and have met with high acclaim amongst the people that have seen them here in the U.K.
Inoue Koi Farm. Inoue is a breeder situated in Hiroshima, who is being said in Japan as a "breeder of Champion Kohaku". His Kohakus are winning many Kukogyo (best in size) prizes. He also breeds wonderful Showa. Kohaku are of Wakabayashi (Sensuke and Dainichi), and Dainichi lines. His Koi have never been imported into England before. They are very sought after in Japan, and very hard to buy. Sakai (Hiroshima). Sakai of Hiroshima is one of the most famous breeders in Japan. The Koi produced here often win many prizes in the "All Japan Show". Sakai is famous for Go-Sanke varieties. Sakai Koi are said to be of "Sakai" bloodlines, but this is a myth. He is currently negotiating with various Japanese hobbiests to buy parent Koi. Obviously, he understands the history of the Koi he trying to buy. This is something that is not unusual in Japan, and is really a good sign of long term investment. Takumi Koi Farm. Takumi is situated in Hiroshima. This is only a small farm, but one that breeds very high quality Koi. Sanke and Showa are produced here. Sanke are of Sadazo line, and Showa are of Takeda line. He is investing a great deal of money to produce exceptional Koi, and has very big parent Koi, which is something that is often overlooked when buying Koi. Parent size is the single most important factor when trying to determine the potential size of offspring. Omosako Koi Farm. Omosako is without doubt the number one breeder of Shiro Utsuri! But, the worry is that he only has one set of parents, and if anything were to happen to them, there would be no more Omosako Koi. This is a complete MYTH!... Omosako has at least four sets of parents! The Shiro Utsuri produced are in a league of there own.... no explanation needed! Momotaro Koi Farm. Momotaro is a famous
breeder indeed! He also grows on the Koi belonging to Mr Matsumoto (frequent
winner of the "All Japan Show"). Momotaro is tipped by some
to be the first breeder of the one metre Go-Sanke Koi. He has succeeded
in growing a one year (Tosai) Koi to over 50cm!, whilst still retaining
wonderful quality. This has obviously been achieved by over-wintering
in his huge indoor heated ponds.
Shimomura
Koi Farm.
Shimomura is situated in Niigata Prefecture, Horinouchi-cho. This farm produces outstanding Showa. Showa is the only variety produced at Shimomura Koi Farm. The bloodline of these Koi is Kobayashi. Showa of high quality are not usually produced every year with most breeders. Shimomura, however, produces good Showa every year! High quality and high popularity exist in Japan with these Koi.We doubt that Shimomura Koi have come to the U.K before?
