Success with Yume Koi
Our desire is to sell Koi that will grow big, and
give immense pleasure to their owners by steadily improving with
age. We have made a point of buying koi from just five breeders,
as it is important that we understand the development and characteristics
of Koi from each parent set. This is also the reason why Mike goes
to Japan during the breeding season, to help with culling, as it
is so much easier to understand Koi development when seen at such
an early stage. Any Koi that develop faults, will simply never be
sold. Instead, we simply give them away. We believe that our experience
is such that we are very successful at recommending Koi that will
grow big for our clients. Our success at advising our customers
about growth potential, and development, is usually very good. Furthermore,
the breeders are also in great admiration of what we are trying
to do. In March 2004, Mr Maeda of Momotaro Koi Farm told a group
of Japanese customers that Mike had a really good understanding
of water for growing Koi, and expressed his opinion that hopefully,
Mike would succeed in changing the way that Western people understand
Koi, and how to raise them.
